2006: ISR OLD N.A. USDF All Breed Awards, Junior Young Rider, First Level, 3rd, 63.958%

From Dressage Daily magazine August 2006

"A towering score of 72.593% rocketed Junior rider, Hannah Underwood of Gig Harbor, Washington on to win First through Fourth Level High Point. Underwood and her 8-year-old Oldenburg mare by Maximillian put in a near flawless test for Alastair Buchanan at C."

American Sport Ponies:  are becoming very popular here in the USA, mostly they are a Welsh (or another UK Native breed pony) stallion crossed with the Thoroughbred, Appendix QH, Arabian or Warmblood mare or vice versa.  These crossbreds excel in the dressage, hunter/jumper/event arena giving the young rider a taller and slightly more elegant/leggy mount for competing on and that have the speed for cross country eventing; combining elegance with hardiness.

SMOKE TREE GOLD FEVER  (aka Nugget) is a beautiful 13.2hh palomino Welsh section B stallion that we are proud to offer to you.  We offer fresh semen here on the farm or we can send shipped cooled semen.   We have a very nice albeit a modest farm to offer mare owners to board their mare at for breeding.

Nugget has sired exquisite foals from warmblood mares Smoke Tree Gold Fever, Welsh stallion at studall the way down to Shetland mares. His foals have his delightful temperament and willingness to work with you.

Mares with foal at foot are also very welcome, we have several nice individual 1 acre paddocks to let them run in safely that have mesh fencing topped off with electric.  We also offer short term lay-ups to horse owners for a very reasonable fee.

All our ponies and foals are handled daily, we don't breed too many each year so we have time to give them lots of handling. We start them on the ground with long-lining and lunging when they are late 2 yr olds and move on to saddle training only when they are fully 3 yrs old and we make sure that they are mentally as well as physically ready to progress on before doing so.

We hope that you find our web site interesting and that if you like anything you see or would like to know more about our animals, that you will contact us.  We are sometimes seeking good homes for a few of our ponies. Please visit the following pages to see what we may have for sale.

Visitors welcome but please call ahead first.
